Brandywine Prime’s Managing Partner Michael Majewski got his start in wine in the early 90’s at Griglia Toscana as apprentice to Italian wine expert Frank Splan. As Frank’s co-pilot, Michael traveled extensively in Italy, France, and Germany, visiting the small, artisan farmers and wine makers that rarely leave the ranch. Michael continued his study with classes at the Culinary Institute of America and more travel, visiting California and Oregon. The writings of Matt Kramer and Greg Moore have heavily influenced his approach to wine and understanding of the “sense of place” that is the grape grower’s Holy Grail. Michael continues his study in the wine country of southeastern Pennsylvania, knowing that no one truly becomes an expert on wine.
